Lauren D. Rachlin Joins Hiscock & Barclay as Partner in Toronto and Buffalo

Buffalo, New York - June 9, 2014 - Lauren D. Rachlin, who was selected as a "2013 Top Rated Lawyer in International Law and International Trade" by Martindale-Hubble has joined Hiscock & Barclay as Partner in the Toronto and Buffalo offices.

Rachlin, who concentrates on international business law, general corporate law, international trade, distribution, investment and finance is part of Hiscock & Barclay's Corporate and International Business Practice Areas. He also serves as an arbitrator on the International Center for Dispute Resolution and the Large and Complex Panels of the American Arbitration Association.

Prior to joining Hiscock & Barclay, he was a partner at Hodgson Russ LLP in the Toronto and Buffalo offices. Rachlin is admitted to practice in New York and is a Licensed Foreign Legal Consultant in Ontario.

Rachlin serves by appointment of the United States Trade Representative and the U.S. Department of Commerce on the Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Customs and Trade Policy. He also serves as a United States designated panelist on the NAFTA Chapter 19 Dispute Resolution Panel.
A former Chair of the New York State Bar Association's International Law Section, where he is currently on its Executive Committee, he established a network of international lawyers now covering more than 50 countries. Rachlin was also actively involved in the formation of the Latin American Council, consisting of prominent lawyers from every Spanish and Portuguese speaking county in Central and South America, dedicated to the advancement of the rule of law. He currently is a member of its Executive Board.

In Canada, Rachlin is the Chair of the International Business Law Committee of the Ontario Bar Association's Business Law Section, where he also is on its Executive Committee.

A winner of many distinguished international awards, Rachlin is one of the authors of "International Law for CEO's; Lessons from Leading International Lawyers" published in 2013.
